Our repair process summary:
• Receipt of customer's module
• No charge evaluation and testing of module
• Customer Approval of repair charges
• Module rebuild
• Testing and Burn in
• Shipment
All modules are subject to a flat rate repair which replaces PCB and electronic components reusing the mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and is provided with its own warranty. Typical cost is 1/2 of a new module.
The entire repair process takes approximately 1 - 2 weeks from receipt of your module. Should you decide not to repair the module, there is no charge except for return shipping. Please advise us if you are off the air as we give priority to those customers.
We require customers to obtain an RMA before submitting their module for evaluation. You will need the serial number of the module, which can be found in these locations
• Gold top 300/500/700 Watt Modules: Input plate below BNC connector and / or on the identification label on top of the module. This will be a 4 digit number or 5 - 6 character identifier starting with 'D'.
• Blue Modules: Small sticker on input end plate or on top of lid close to input connector - 4 digit number.
• Amplifiers from BE / Broadcast Electronics: FM-2C, 3C, and IBOC variants
• Gates/Harris - Z Series, FM, HT
• Continental 816
• Nautel V5, V10 IPA and PA Modules
Please use the RMA form as above. Amplifier rebuild costs will vary depending on the number of damaged transistors and damage to the digital and analog control circuits.
For any of the broadcast series amplifiers, we will work with you to perform advanced troubleshooting in order to repair only the affected system. The SCA series have smart modules which aid in front panel debugging of most systems, although older B and 10 series amplifiers may require bench time in order to identify faulty system component. There is no charge for over the phone support and this may be scheduled at any time to avoid taking your broadcast station or medical equipment off the air.
If you prefer to simply ship the system to us, we can assist you in transportation for the system including providing shipping containers for safe transport.
98% of the amplifiers we have sold since 1993 can be repaired. If the amplifier PCB and mechanical baseplate is intact, the amplifier can likely be repaired for a considerable savings over replacement cost. Submit your pallet amplifier for a no cost evaluation today!
